At a glimpse

  • I am a 3D environment artist with over 2 years of experience. I enjoy both modeling and texturing, with a preference to creating inanimate objects. Here you will find my portfolio with my current and past work, each with a short description.
  • Past

    -----------------

Throughout my childhood I have always loved video games, starting with the Commador 64. Since then I have done things ranging from drawing comics to even programming games (for example, I programmed one for my TI-84 calculator). Later I got my Bsc. In math/computer science but I felt that this was not my true calling and that I needed a career change, so I decided to work on getting into the games industry.

Eventually I took a distance education course called "3D animation" with the CDED Digital Arts & Technology Training Institute. This diploma really helped me to develop a basic but wide set of skills in 3D art. It also helped me become self-motivated and adaptable to different problems/situations (since I had to do the work by myself).

    Present

    -----------------

Right now I live in Ottawa, Canada and I am mostly a self taught 3D artist. While I have only started exploring game design and art since about 2005, I have always liked expressing my creative mind. Once I realized how much I enjoyed the 3D art process, I have been spending most of my free time acquiring as much knowledge as I can about game art and the whole design/production process. I love the idea of creating and designing something out of nothing.

Specifically, my current passion is creating inanimate environment props, but I do have basic knowledge of almost all aspects of 3D art (special effects, character rigging, etc). I love working on a team and I love the satisfaction one gets when a game starts to come together.

    Future

    -----------------

Since I always seem to have different ideas about how games should work (in terms of art and design), I see myself managing a team of talented individuals who can really make a difference in the games industry. I always feel that challenging the video game design paradigm is the only way to create great games.
